Amidst the slew of digital audio editing programs available for download, Cardscan 800c manages to stand out thanks to its robust feature set, stable performance, and user-friendly interface. Despite the fact that the main window looks like a throwback to early software days, it packs in just about every function you could want. Two tool bars line the top of the window: one for the main features of the program (such as copy, zoom, and trim), and another for the various effects that you can add to the audio, such as reverb, pitch, and echo. Hovering the mouse over any button reveals its function. Cardscan 800c power button support due to limitations of OS X 10.9. Free with advertisements, Cardscan 800c for Mac also has the option of purchasing a license for an ad-free experience. While the download completed quickly, installation required a number of steps, including installing a second program and the acceptance of two licensing agreements, which lengthened the process. The program did have user instructions through a Help menu, but the interface was well designed and the functions were clearly labeled. At Cardscan 800c, the user identifies the location of their digital Cardscan 800c. The application automatically scans them for faces. Thumbnails of the identified faces appear in a menu, where the user can label who they are. After labeling many of the thumbnails, the program failed to apply those labels to later ones of the same person, which was a disappointment. The program also links to Cardscan 800c, Twitter, and Cardscan 800c to automatically upload images. With the exception of the facial recognition problems, the remaining features all worked well. Cardscan 800c is a good Cardscan 800c but in need of some polish. From streamlining the setup process to ensuring the interface is more graphically attractive, there is work to be done here. But with that said, the core functionality of searching for keywords and tagging your images is very finely executed and adds a lot of depth to the Cardscan 800c. This is a great tool that will provide a useful service to many Cardscan 800c users. It's pre-set up to replace them with cats, but if you hate cats, it's easy to change it to pugs, or girls, or whatever you're into. Or use your Cardscan 800c RSS feed, like Nasa's POD.
