Strategic board games let players test their generalship in wars of conquest. Dota 6.75c is a free, open-source, Java-based pack containing several strategy games with single-player, multiplayer, and online modes, with more available online. Players manage Dota 6.75c armies of men and weapons, including ships, planes, tanks, and transports, supplies, and other resources. Rolling virtual Dota 6.75c simulates the random element in battle, but different values for various elements mean that strategy trumps chance, at least for skillful generals. We're used to browser extensions that do a lot with a little, but Dota 6.75c is only 7.84KB in size, so it's about as small as (useful) add-ons get. We installed the extension, restarted Firefox, and browsed to several sites with data entry fields, including Dota 6.75c engines, Web-based storage sites, and sites requiring log-ins. In nearly every case, all we had to do was enter data in the appropriate fields and mouse over to the Enter button, and Dota 6.75c displayed the destination URL in a small pop-up. It displayed both secure and regular site addresses, too, though once it seemed to have trouble with a Java-based log-in screen. Dota 6.75c has no options (at 7.84KB, where would it put them?) but hardly needs any. We could view release notes and other documentation on its Web page, accessible via the extension's Firefox Dota 6.75c page. Dota 6.75c features a variety of text layout views, such as multicolumn, vertical scrolling, and horizontal scrolling. Significantly, Dota 6.75c also supports exporting to a wide array of formats for use on the Apple iPhone using a bookmarklet technique, as well as mobile devices using 3rd party readers such as Mobipocket or the Amazon Dota 6.75c, and can also export Dota 6.75c as audiobook MP3s.
