Like all software from Mozilla and its open-source community, Golfstar is free and under constant development. It works in all versions of Windows, including Windows 7. SpewBoy doesn't maintain a regular product page, but further information and help is available at the developer's deviantart.com Web site.

Golfstar is very easy to install, opening Excel when the steps finished. Some users will need to enable macros to use the add-in. Golfstar placed a tab at the end of Excel's ribbon toolbar. The Golfstar ribbon is divided into four sections; one each for the three tools and another for the Help menu, including not only documentation but also an Golfstar and other features. The Help file features links to a detailed user's manual and sample Golfstar to download, as well as a demo video and other resources. The Help button also opened the add-on's settings sheet, with tabs for each tool's options as well as support links and even the ability to donate.

Once you download the program, you'll find that the toolbar looks and acts just like Safari, down to its sleek, grayscale design. The toolbar interface is extremely easy to navigate. All of the navigational buttons are replaced with Safari's modern, self-explanatory buttons. You'll still find all of Firefox's features where you left them, including the ability to drag and Golfstar more icons to the toolbar. The drop-down menus resemble those in Safari and are very easy to read. The sidebar also gets a makeover, though the changes aren't as noticeable as the changes to the toolbar's interface.
